Director Mary Reinker with Pope John Paul II after performance in St. Peter's Basilica Located 20 miles south of Denver near the foothills of the Rocky Mountains and founded by our Director, Mary S. Reinker, international pianist and organist, the Forté International Academy was established to bring together teens aged 13-18 from around the globe to improve their English language skills, as well as to develop their musical abilities through the study of the instrument of their choice and Music Theory and History. Additionally, students can experience outdoor adventure and sports in the beautiful Rocky Mountains of Colorado, USA!
Mrs. Reinker first established the Forté Academy of Music in 1997 to offer quality music instruction to students of all ages. As an adjunct to the Music Academy, the Forté International Academy of Music and Language was started to offer that same opportunity for music study to teens from around the world, and in addition to give them the advantage of English Immersion study through intensive classes, as well as through living and socializing with American students and their families.
In addition to the educational opportunities, students can experience an American western outdoor lifestyle in the beautiful Rocky Mountains in Colorado, USA. Adventure and sport activities include seasonal sports such as skiing or snowboarding, golf, tennis, swimming, hiking, and horseback riding. A sports program may be substituted for or included in the music program. Students also may attend professional baseball or football games, as well as movies and concerts. Our professional faculty and staff supervise all activities.
Students stay in the homes of carefully selected host families personally acquainted with or recommended to our Director. Normally 2 same-sex students with either different or same native languages stay at each home. Transportation is provided to and from the Academy each day. Breakfast and dinner are usually taken in the home of the host family and a sack lunch is provided to bring to classes each day for the noon lunch break.
